Governor-General visits Catholic Church HIV clinic in Port Moresby

The Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove visited the Saint Joseph Freinademetz Centre in Boroko, Papua New Guinea on 26 April.

The health centre is run by Catholic Church Health Services Incorporated, and is the headquarters for their network of clinics across Papua New Guinea.

The Saint Joseph Freinademetz Centre provides integrated HIV, TB and STI services to the people of Port Moresby, similar to a number of their clinics across the country, which provide integrated services.

Staff working at the centre spoke to the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove about the clinic and their broader work in Papua New Guinea.

The visit included a tour of the clinic, where the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove met with patients who are undertaking treatment at the clinic.
