AusAID PNG is responsible for the delivery of the Australian Aid program to PNG by assisting the PNG Government to reduce poverty and achieve sustainable development. The PNG program is one of Australia’s largest aid programs, providing approximately A$491.7 million for 2012-13.

About the role
Under limited direction, the Program Manager, Property will manage the Facilities/Property section in the Corporate Services team.

The key responsibilities for this position are:

  • Manage the AusAID property portfolio in Port Moresby and in our provincial locations, including leasing arrangements;
  • Manage the implementation of project activities and monitor the performance in line with property management policy;
  • Prepare project financial estimates, coordinate budgets, maintain financial records and analyse/monitor expenditure;
  • Administer work improvements/change initiatives and make recommendations for improved work systems and practices;
  • Provide input on policy advice to senior management and stakeholders;
  • Manage and guide the Property Team and report to the SPM Corporate Services;
  • Establish and strengthen networks with contractors and other relevant stakeholders; and
  • Provide accurate and timely reports relating to the property portfolio.

Required Skills and Qualifications
 

  • Experience in property management and maintenance;
  • Ability to take initiative, use sound judgement and work under limited direction;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills (both written and verbal);
  • Ability to organise, prioritise and deal with urgent matters;
  • Ability to minimise costs and introduce operational improvements;
  • High degree of proficiency in Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint; and
  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications and/or experience.
