Advice to Papua New Guinean media
The Australian High Commission advises all Papua New Guinean media it is factually incorrect to refer to the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID) in reports about the delivery of Australian Government aid.
AusAID ceased to exist as a separate executive agency with effect from 1 November 2013, in accordance with the Australian Government’s decision to integrate AusAID with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT).
The correct ways of describing Australian Government aid are contained in Australian High Commission media releases issued after 1 November 2013. These are available on the website: www.png.embassy.gov.au/pmsb/media.html
