Matt Gresham and Alyson Joyce perform in PNG-Australia Week concert
The Australian High Commission was pleased to announce Australian singer Matt Gresham and Papua New Guinean-Australian vocalist powerhouse Alyson Joyce, as the headline act for the ‘PNG-Australia Bung Wantaim-Yumi Poroman Week’ concert on 13 May.
Matt and Alyson performed with PNG Idols Stanley Mark (2015 winner of PNG Idol) and Sentanya Gewang (2013 winner of PNG Idol) in a collaborative musical performance at Lamana Gold Club.
Matt Gresham is a fresh and upcoming Australian artist with a unique blend of jazz, soul and blues. The Western Australian-born singer was a finalist of the Australian television talent program, X-factor, in 2013 and recently released his single ‘Small Voices’ in February this year.
In 2015, Matt performed in the prestigious United States, South by Southwest (SXSW) festival for all-original artists and has lined up new international collaborators for his musical debut onto the international scene.
Alyson Joyce has over a decade in the industry; she has graced stages in Australia, London, New York, Miami, India, Germany, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand.
Returning home to Papua New Guinea in 2011, Alyson continues to perform and has worked with many of Papua New Guinea’s most respected artists including AKAY-47 and Anslom Nakikus.
Now in its 10th year, ‘PNG-Australia Bung Wantaim-Yumi Poroman Week’, is connecting Papua New Guinea to Australia through music, film, sport and education.
All proceeds went to the charity organisation, PNG Children’s Foundation.
