Australia Awards welcomes home the latest cohort of returning alumni from various Australian universities.
The group will be participating in a series of re-integration workshops organised by Australia Awards to support alumni on their return. The two-day event, this Wednesday and Thursday (27-28 September), will help the returning students capitalise on their experience in Australia and to apply their new skills and knowledge to effectively contribute to development objectives. It will also help them to build linkages between Papua New Guinea and Australia as well as develop ethical leadership habits.
The cohort will also be briefed on changes in their workplaces while they were away.
At the end of the two days, a special networking event will be held where the alumni will join representatives from the Government of Papua New Guinea, the Australian High Commission and partner organisations to build professional connections.
Australian High Commissioner Bruce Davis, said that the group will make an exceptional contribution to the country's future.
"It is wonderful to see these up-and-coming leaders returning from their studies in Australia with so much passion and drive to contribute to the future of Papua New Guinea.”
“I know they will prove very important to the country in coming years," he added.
