Personal Assistant to Head of Mission

This position offers a blend of administrative responsibilities and secretarial work, in a modern office setting, with excellent prospects for personal development. Reporting to the Head of Mission (HOM), the successful applicant will perform a range of duties, including managing travel arrangements for the HOM, liaising with senior level officials, assisting the HOM for the preparation of reports and cables, and arranging social engagements. The successful applicant should also have exceptional oral and written communication skills.
Selection Criteria
1. Well developed ability as a personal assistant to provide administrative, office and management systems support. Sound understanding of computerised information systems and their application in an administrative context, including an ability to prepare and maintain accurate records.
2. Demonstrated ability to take initiative, to respond to challenges and to set priorities. Ability to build productive working relationships and to adapt to different work environments.
3. Ability to administer human, financial, IT, property or other resources effectively and efficiently.
4. Well developed oral and written communication skills, including effectiveness in day-to-day negotiation, consultation and liaison. Strong interpersonal skills.
This is a security assessed position and applicants must be Australian, UK, Canadian or New Zealand Citizens and be willing to undergo security vetting.
