The Australian High Commission (AHC) is seeking to recruit suitable applicants with relevant experience for the position of;
Personal Assistant to the Deputy Head of Mission

The successful applicant must be able to provide administrative support to the Deputy Head of Mission (DHOM) at the Australian High Commission, Port Moresby. The Personal Assistant (PA) to DHOM is required to manage travel arrangements for the DHOM, liaise with senior level officials, assist the DHOM for the preparation of reports and cables, and arrange social engagements. The successful applicant should also have exceptional oral and written communication skills.
Selection Criteria
1. Highly developed communication skills with an ability to liaise with clients in a pleasant, discreet and efficient manner.
2. Good management and organisational skills.
3. Knowledge of Australian Government security procedures for handling, distributing and filing classified documents.
4. Knowledge of Australian Government communication systems.
5. A high level of understanding of the role and functions of the Australian High Commission in Papua New Guinea.
6. High degree of self motivation and initiative. Ability to work in a small team environment.
7. Ability to work effectively under pressure and with minimal supervision.
This is a security assessed position and applicants must be Australian, UK, Canadian or New Zealand Citizens and be willing to undergo security vetting.
