MEDIA ADVISORIES ISSUED FOR APEC 2007 MEETINGS
The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) 2007 Taskforce has released media advisories for two forthcoming APEC 2007 meetings.
The media advisories relate to the APEC 2007 Transportation Ministers Meeting and Senior Officials Meeting II to be held in Adelaide, Australia in March and April 2007.
Both advisories are designed to help media houses plan their coverage of the events. They are not for publication or broadcast.
Australia will host the APEC forum this year – the premier forum for facilitating economic growth, cooperation, trade and investment in the most economically dynamic region in the world. Papua New Guinea is one of the 21 APEC member economies.
The advisories provide general details and media arrangements, including key dates for media wishing to seek accreditation to each meeting. They contain information relevant to international media, including those from PNG.
Media representatives who have gained accreditation for previous APEC Australia 2007 meetings are not required to repeat the entire registration process for each meeting, except for the APEC Leaders' Week, for which separate Media Advisories will be distributed closer to the meetings.
Each meeting does require its own accreditation pass, however, and to receive a pass accredited media will have to register and provide a separate letter of assignment for each meeting.
The Transportation Ministers Meeting will be held in Adelaide from 28 - 30 March 2007. The Senior Officials Meeting II (SOM II) will be held in Adelaide from 16 - 24 April 2007.
Both advisories are available from the APEC 2007 website. Go to www.apec2007.org and follow the ‘Media’ link.
