P2-703 takes flight!
The PNG Defence Force Air Transport Wing’s newest aircraft took to the skies for its maiden flight on February 07.
P2-703 was flown by PNGDF Major Randall Hepota with Royal Australian Air Force Wing Commander Tim Shaw by his side.
Acting PNGDF Commander, Commodore Philip Polewara signed the final documents approving P2-703 as a PNGDF aircraft under the PNG Defence Aviation Safety Framework.
Through the Defence Cooperation Program Australia is working closely with the PNG to rejuvenate the PNGDF sovereign aviation capability, including through the gifting of two PAC-750 aircraft in 2023.
